    A few people have modified their Toyota Prius so they can charge it overnight. They've added extra battery power and a power cord. What it got them was the ability to run their cars in EV mode (all battery) then after the power has exhausted it would power up in traditional eco mode (gas+battery) with a range of 100+ miles per gallon vs the traditional 40-60 mpg.
