You ever say "is it hot or is it just me?" well its just you. In the US we get less MPG because we demand it. In other countries like the UK you are taxed for higher emissions. So cars actually get higher mpg and way low emissions especially on diesel engines. Gasoline engines gets higher emissions and lower mpg, like 30% lower mpg. 15% higher emissions. You should browse the Ford site in the UK. Cars are getting 60MPG and its all non-hybrid cars. Just plain gas or diesel.
